Koreatown Homicide?
The first Koreatown homicide in months?
At around 7:20 am Friday morning, a dead body was reportedly found in front of 747 South New Hampshire Avenue within the formal borders of Koreatown.
Details are still sketchy, but residents say it was a 50-year-old heavyset Hispanic male, known in the neighborhood as an indigent drunk, who was stabbed to death as part of a random failed robbery. The only sure thing as of now is that there definitely was a corpse showing blood and covered with a sheet that the coroner had to take care of.

The last homicide within the proper borders of Koreatown was that of the white newly arrived gay hipster resident Samuel Michel on Serrano in April — he was stabbed and left to die with a knife in his back by an assailant he let into his unit at the Drake Apartments at 1:00 in the morning… There was a Romanian murder-suicide on St. Andrews, just a few blocks west of Koreatown proper in October… Two homicides a few blocks east in the Westlake / Rampart areas happened just recently.
