G-Dragon Completes Military Duty, Resumes Entertainment Work
G-Dragon, the leader of the uber-popular Kpop group Big Bang, was discharged from the military on October 26 after satisfactorily completing the mandatory 18-month service required of every South Korean male.
A well-known fashion icon across Asia, G-Dragon immediately resumed his entertainment activities with a fashion collaboration with Nike. He joined in designing the U.S.-based firm’s flagship sneaker line of the Air Force 1 Para-noise, which features daisy logos from G-Dragon’s fashion brand PEACEMINUSONE on the tongue of the shoe.
Upon completing his military duty, the 31-year-old singer, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, told his fans that he was committed to focusing on his work in music.
G-Dragon has enjoyed global stardom not only as part of BIGBANG, but as a solo artist as well.
Two other members of BigBang — Daesung and Taeyang — will also be completing their military duty on Sunday.
T.O.P was the earliest BIGBANG member to finish the service — in July.
All male South Koreans aged 18 to 35 are legally obligated to undertake mandatory military service.
